Mother's Day '08
A little late in this post, but my 5th Mother's Day was super nice, so I just thought I'd share. We took my mom on a picnic (now a tradition) to Stony Creek on Saturday. It was a gorgeous day with yummy food and lots of nice outdoor time. My dad fixed up an old Barbie Power Wheels jeep and the kids had a blast riding that around. After the picnic everyone came back to our house for a bbq - well, sort of, but instead of bbq we had it catered. I didn't want to do any cooking while everyone was here, so it worked out great. Lots of fun family time, and I know my mom had a great day. On Sunday, Jason made reservations for Mackenzie and I to go to brunch at 11:30 so I could sleep in, and then I had a day of nothing - exactly what I wanted! It was overcast and rainy all day, so I lounged around, used my new foot massager (as did the kids - "this is great!" is how I think Mackenzie put it), browsed the sale papers and read a fluffy novel. Jason even took care of dinner - carry out, but hey, at least I didn't have to make it! It was a really nice weekend and reminded me of just how much I love being a mom and what a great husband I have. Thanks, Jason :)
