The Party

Mackenzie's party was so much fun! Although I was exhausted after all the planning, shopping, organizing, setting up, etc etc etc! But it was so worth it - the girls had a terrific time and Mackenzie was the princess of the day. We did hair, nails, make up and some crafts, then giant decorate-your-own cupcakes and ice cream sundaes. After it was a Macarena lesson given by Christie and I (supposedly there's a video around of this that I have to confiscate...), charades, and playing with all of the new toys. Mackenzie's big gift from us this year was a new bike - a Barbie bike with a mini bike on the handlebars for a Barbie to ride on - I know! Can you believe it??? :)

It was a great year for her - she's really growing up - so a not so great year for the mom :( I know I get a little sentimental every year at birthday time with Mackenzie, but this year was worse than the rest (well, except for the first one) b/c she's really a little girl now - no longer my baby. She's in school full time and can do so much on her own. I mean, she's almost reading! And fyi- can't spell out secrets around her anymore - she figures them out. I know that they grow up, but does it have to be so fast???
