So, I dropped her off this morning. She fell and skinned her knees up pretty badly on the walk to school, so it took both of our minds off of the looming separation that was coming, but it didn't help for long. She was nervous right before going in, telling me that she only wanted to go for a half day (gee, did she overhear her mom talking???) and for me to pick her up at lunch. So that broke my heart. I was a good mom, though, and I held it together for her, right up to the moment that she crossed the threshold into the classroom. Then it was all over. I turned my back to the classroom and started bawling. That in turn started about five other moms crying, and they all thanked me for that after :) I'm still very sad, so I'm hoping for an awesome report from her on how great her day was when she comes home. I'll keep you posted (haha - a little blog humor). Oh, and her face in the photo above? She didn't want her picture taken, and she sure didn't want it taken with the sweatshirt on!
