Road Trip! with two kids and a (how would I have survived without it) dvd player

Louisville Trip

We went to visit the Morris' this weekend in their new hometown of Louisville! The kids (and grown ups, too) had a great time. It was a short visit, but we fit a lot in. Late arrival Friday night, Louisville Zoo and some pool time on Saturday, followed by a bbq and a few drinks. Sunday we were off to Lynn's Paradise Cafe for brunch (my favorite part of the trip!) and a downtown park/splash zone before hitting the road. The kids got along really well - Max really took a liking to Mackenzie and 'Jay-shun.' That's what he called Jason - it was super cute! Cam kind of did his own thing, but wanted to play with Max right before we were leaving (of course). Oh, and a little side note: I know that my parents, and their parents, and etc etc etc have been taking road trips for years and years without a portable dvd player, but I'll tell you what, that little contraption is one of the best purchases I ever made! We were stuck in traffic not even 20 minutes after we left the house, and then with the potty breaks, stretching breaks, dinner breaks, rush hour, construction, etc turning at 6.5 hour drive into an 8.5 drive, that thing was a life (and back) saver. We still had all the 'keep the back seat busy and quiet' tools of the trade, but nothing works quite as well as a video :)
