Something New

Not too much going on these days, so I thought I share a few new tidbits about our family;

Mackenzie made me a 'marble-aide' pie today - sand with a marble in the middle (I thought she was trying to say marmalade until I saw the pie!)

She also likes to eat 'rice kripies' and enjoys trying to get away with the phrase, "What the heck is that?" Some other popular phrases are, "Here's the thing..." and "Ummm, whadda ya mean?"

Everything Hannah Montana is what's popular with her these days, so she tries to dress like Hannah and has really been belting out the toons. I try to sing along, but apparently I don't have a rock star voice. "But you can keep working on it, Mommy."

She loves to chew gum, put on tattoos, and wear her crocs. Also loves singing and dancing (like Hannah, of course), and tickling her brother. She is really enjoying preschool and can't wait for kindergarten. She's always playing dog school with Mooch and loves him sooo much. Unfortunately she also loves her screen time (computer, tv, wii), so I've had to start limiting that a little. It'll be easier now that we can go outside...

Cameron is also developing into quite the little character. I like to think that he's a daddy's boy and likes everything active (you should see the arm on this kid!), but secretly he's a mama's boy and loves to snuggle with me, even if it is for only a moment here and there. He also needs me when he's not feeling well - this kid seems to always be sick! - and when he gets a boo boo. We run his hand under the faucet (regardless of where the injury is) and everything's all better.

There still aren't any words coming out yet, so there are quite a few temper tantrums and screaming fits over here. He generally knows how to get what he wants, though, and does use a few signs. He's also very attached to his ba ba (bottle), which is kind of bad seeing as how we were supposed to break him of that habit by 18 months. Oh well, I guess it'll happen when it happens. He's just so content with that bottle in one hand and his burpie (security blanket = cloth diaper) in the other, relaxing in his little chair watching Barney.

He also loves Mooch and loves to get him running through the house with a unique screech (see the last video) that he only uses for that purpose. Cameron is in charge of making sure that Mooch always has every dog toy in the house any moment the dog is lying down. Or when he's in his crate. It's pretty funny, although I'm not so sure the dog thinks it is :)

Speaking of Mooch, he's such a great part of our family. He loves finding any little part of sunshine on the floor and curling up in it. He also loves following me around the house and greeting Mackenzie in the morning with a toy in his mouth and his tail going a mile a minute. Today I discovered that he loves bubbles - I had him chasing bubbles in the backyard (that I was blowing for Cameron) for 1/2 hour! He was jumping, running, biting after them and then had to go lay down - it's hard work being a dog!!!

Not too much new with Jason and I - we had our front window replaced (Mackenzie was teary eyed b/c she really loved our old window). It makes a big difference - makes the living room brighter. Jason's been traveling to FL quite a bit for work, and Cheboygan. He's getting kind of sick of it, as am I, so hopefully there won't be too many more trips. We're now closet wii addicts. When the kids go to be we fire it up and play until bedtime. I had to take a few days off last week because my wii arm was so sore! Every time I leave the house I come home to Jason playing. He's wayyyyyy better than me (most of you know that I have no coordination or athletic ability what so ever!), but we still have a great time playing. I'll be putting some photos up on my next post, so check back in a few days...

Oh, and just a reminder that I love blog feedback, even if it's only a word or two! Post it on here or send me an email - I love to see who's keeping tabs on us :)
