Ok, well I finally got both children to sleep by drugging them, since they were both up ALL NIGHT last night. Now, before you call social services on me, the drugs were both legal and really needed.
Cameron's been getting his teething tablets today (which seem to help from time to time) and he was given a dose of Tylenol before bed to help with the pain. I would have rather given him motrin to keep the swelling down plus pain relief, but we have no infant motrin and Jason wasn't home so I couldn't run up to the store and get some. Oh well. But I think it's working - he's been down for almost three hours with no waking up.
Mackenzie has a terrible cold that has her nose running like a faucet. She has gone through two boxes of tissue today! She was up and crying about every half hour last night, just thrashing around in bed, uncomfortable and not feeling good. I finally brought her into bed with me around 2am because I didn't want to get up anymore. She still woke up a million times, but at least I didn't have to get out of bed to comfort her. I gave her some benedryl tonight to try and stop that leaky nose, and she was asleep within 3 minutes of her head hitting the pillow and hasn't been up since (keep your fingers crossed!).
Now it's my turn, but I think I'm feeling too sleep deprived to fall asleep. Why does that happen??? All I want is one full night's sleep - unfortunately a full night's sleep for me is 10+ hours. I'm guessing it'll be quite a few years before that happens - like probably 18 or so :)
