Baby Shower

Last weekend was the baby shower, and we got some really cute things. Not just that, but it was a nice way to see everyone and share our excitement. Now I really can't wait for this little guy to get here! (Well, yes I can, but I'm even more excited now). We have the crib almost up - of course part of it got broken - our luck lately - so that needs to get fixed before we have it all the way ready to go. We also want to sand and paint a few spots where Mackenzie chewed the rails, so hopefully we'll get to that in time (just one more thing to add to Jason's neverending honey-do list. Poor guy).

One cool thing we received was a sit and stand stroller that Mackenzie can stand or sit on in the back if she gets tired and the baby can ride in the front. Mackenzie already loves it, so I think it'll work out quite well.

We also got a few things (including the bedding set) to match the decor of the baby's room. Sooooo cute!

And of course, lots and lots of super cute boy clothes. I can't wait to dress him up! Lots of blue and green, teddy bears and puppies, sports and outdoorsie themes. So different from the pink frilly stuff that made (makes) up Mackenzie's closet. I'm really looking forward to this entirely different baby experience - not only because he's a boy, but because every baby is different. I'm really wondering how different from Mackenzie he'll be, and how much of her babyhood I'll remember while he's going through it, since it seems like it was so long ago.

Anyway, we now have to finish up the decorating and furniture placement in his room, as well as get Mackenzie a dresser - the baby needs the changing table that we've been using in there as a dresser - and possibly a twin bed (we're not sure if we'd rather do that or get another crib mattress - decisions, decisions). There are still a few more 'necessities' that I want to get, since the majority of stuff that we have is pink. But we are well on our way to being ready to bring home a baby! Now we just have to wait another 8 weeks for his arrival...
