Another Symptom of Pregnancy
Today I discovered another of the discomforts of pregnancy - nosebleeds (yuck). I thought I had one at the beginning of my pregnancy, but it was nothing compared to today. I got up off the couch this morning and noticed my nose was a little runny, only to discover it was really blood. Lots and lots of blood. When I couldn't get it to stop after 30 minutes, I called the doctor. She had me put ice on my nose and tilt my head back (usually you tilt forward) and it finally stopped - while making me totally nauseous - after about an hour of bleeding. I was then advised to stay off my feet for awhile and go to the ER or call 911 if I was feeling any pain, weakness, or faintness. Needless to say, Jason came home and watched Mackenzie while I stayed on the couch for the rest of the day. It was kind of scary, especially with my history of headaches during this pregnancy(which was the doctor's comment), but I'm very relieved that it's a normal symptom of pregnancy, even if my 'version' of it was a little more extreme than most cases.
