I had my 15 week appointment yesterday, and everything went great! My blood pressure is at 100/60, and I have not gained any weight (I'm actually still down three lbs from my very first visit). The nurse was impressed that I'm still wearing pants with a belt at 15+ weeks. I bet it won't last for long!
I have a feeling the weight gain is going to start very soon, though. I'm still getting nauseated by certain smells (I threw up trying to make tuna fish sandwiches the other day), and by certain foods like boneless skinless chicken breasts and raw meat in general. Let's just say we've been eating out quite a bit lately because you can't really survive on Lipton's noodle soup and grilled cheese! Making dinner has been so hard lately. But, I've definitely gotten my appetite back, even if there aren't many things I want to eat.
I got to hear the baby's heartbeat again - perfect at 155 bpm. The nurse called the baby 'a busy little bee' because it was moving all over the place while she was using the doppler to hear the heartbeat. I thought that was cute because lots of the neutral room decor stuff that I like has little bees on it. We're convinced that this is going to be our wild (in a good way!) child since Mackenzie is so calm - I guess it's already starting!
I also had the quad marker screen (multiple marker screening/AFP) test done. I didn't get it done when I was pregnant with Mackenzie, but now that I'm a mom and know what it's like to worry about your child(ren), I thought I'd get it done just for peace of mind. It just tells us if our child is at an increased risk of having certain birth defects or genetic abnormalities. But, both my and Jason's gene pools look pretty good, so I think we'll be ok :)
