Mackenzie had her first science fair today! We had a rough start this morning, which was due to what she was going to wear (at age 6! really looking forward to age 15...), but I think may have really been because of nerves. But, once she got set up and with her friends, everything was peachy and she was having a great time by the time Jason and I got there to check it out. 1st grade seemed a little young to me for a science fair, but the kids really learned a lot from it so it was worth it. For Mackenzie's project, she was testing whether your sense of smell and/or sight affected your sense of taste - in her case the taste of different juices. We had the family over last weekend as our test subjects :) Once she collected her data, Mackenzie even had a graph to show her results - pretty impressive, I think! Of course I guided her through it, but she did a good majority of the work herself and ended up with a really nice final product.
