Garden Update

A red onion shoot - Mackenzie planted this square a little 'upside-down' so I think it might be awhile before they all show themselves....
Awww - look at those cute little radishes coming up!

So the lettuce - both romaine and regular, peas, radishes, carrots, red onions and spinach are all planted. The radishes and red onions are really coming in and this morning I saw the first pea shoot! I love my garden :) I've been so busy lately that I feel like I'm running in circles half the time. The garden is so great because I just have to give it a little water and the seeds do all the work. I love seeing new sprouts and waiting for more!

This weekend we're going to get the other box filled and marked and ready to plant. I'm having a hard time finding potatoes to plant, so I think I'm going to plant popcorn (!) in their place and take my chances with that. I know, I'm a dork but I think that if it grows it'll be so cool!
My garden photography skills leave a little to be desired, so I'm adding that to my list of things I'm learning from this garden - how to take a great shot of a growing veggie! Watch for improvement...

Yeah! Looks great Nichole!! Isn't is such a good feeling to see the little vegis stick their sprouts out for the first time of the year :) Joey, believes once they show themselves he must talk to them everyday - lol So, cute to watch him say hello to the garden as soon as he gets home. As for your photo skills, it's not an easy shot....best words of advise (which will be easy with a raised bed) is get down to ground level, not from the top. And wait til you start having dew on the sprouts - beautiful photos!!! xoxoxoxoxo We will have to plan on a salsa party this summer and you and I can use our fresh vegis ;) Sommer Lynn www.realyfuncraft.com
