Sicko

Well the kids were hit with another round of being sick this past week. Mackenzie had to miss two days of school (one I made her miss because she wanted to go back). She's had a bad cold/cough that turned into a nasty ear infection. Her ear drum is infected so a 'bubble' has formed that could possibly pop. If/when it does I guess she'll be in excruciating pain, but then everything should be fine after that. The ear drum will heal itself and no more infection. So that's fun waiting for her ear drum to rupture...

Cam also started with a cold/cough which has now turned into croup. At the doctor's today he had to get a steroid shot to bring down the inflammation since his breathing was so labored. Then we got to spend another half hour there being monitored to make sure he didn't go into acute distress (ie a crying fit) which would have made the croup worse before the steroid kicked in. Luckily I was able to calm him down shortly after the shot and he fell asleep in the doctor's office! He seems to be doing much better now that we're home, but boy am I exhausted!
