Open House

Mackenzie had her preschool open house tonight and was very proud to show off her classroom (even though I was just there last week!). It was a little overwhelming to her because of the amount of people that were there, but we had a check list that she was totally into. Daddy couldn't make it so she took her camera and shot a few pics for him, including one of the bathroom! The one above is her and Miss Brady, her teacher.
Miss Brady told me tonight that it's a joy having Mackenzie in class and that all the kids love her - apparently she keeps a full social calendar! I'm so proud of her. When I told her what her teacher said and how proud I was, she said that she was proud of herself, too. Sigh. I just thought that was so great for her to say that because she's been trying hard. This year in school has really made all the difference in her social skills. She has two good friends (yea!!!) and they all want to stay together all the time. I'm wondering if she'll be more like me and prefer a small group of a few close friends, or if she'll be the big group type? I'm guessing more like me, but I'll guess I'll have to wait and see.
We were at the library cafe today talking with the owner who has a ten month old and she was commenting how it was so cute when they act shy (Cam was burying his head into my shoulder whenever she would talk to him). Mackenzie turned around and said, "I'm shy, too!" in a giggle. Not quite as much as everyone tells her, I think ;)
